Who We Are
The Society for Transport Safety (STS) is Saudi Arabia's independent professional home for every person who makes transport safer — across every mode, every sector, every career stage. Founded in 2025, we exist to fill the critical gap between government regulation, academic research, and the practitioners who actually run, operate, and manage safe transport every day.
Until STS, no organisation in the Kingdom represented transport safety professionals as an independent body. Government regulators write rules but don't build communities. Academic societies publish research but don't certify practitioners. Infrastructure programmes rate roads but don't develop people.
We do all three — and we do it across six transport modes simultaneously: road, rail, maritime, air cargo, urban mobility, and logistics operations.
Our Mission
To make Saudi Arabia the regional leader in transport safety professionalism by building the community, credentials, data infrastructure, and policy influence that no single organisation can replicate.
Our Vision
By 2030, STS will be the indispensable partner for every transport safety professional in Saudi Arabia, the trusted advisor to government on safety regulation, and the recognised standard-setter for transport safety competence across the Middle East.
What Makes Us Different
- All-Mode Coverage — No other organisation covers road, rail, maritime, air, urban, and logistics together.
- Independent — We are not a government body, not an academic society, and not a corporate entity.
- Professional Certification — The STSP credential creates a talent pipeline no competitor can match.
- Data Ownership — Our incident repository becomes a strategic national asset over time.
- International from Day One — Formal affiliations with IOSH, GRSP, ITF, and others.
Alignment with Vision 2030
Transport safety is a flagship Vision 2030 objective. STS directly delivers it by reducing incident rates, building professional capacity, creating data infrastructure, and elevating Saudi Arabia's global standing in transport safety governance.
